The Parish of Murragh and Templemartin is located in the heart of West Cork. The village of Newcestown is at its centre and this is where the Parish Church, The Church of St John the Baptist is located (eircode P72 P403). A cemetery adjoins St. John the Baptist Church, where some former Parish Priests are buried. This cemetery is the main burial place for the Parish population.
St. Martin’s church is located in Farnivane (eircode P72 CC84). The cemetery in Farnivane, which is situated across the road from the church, was blessed and opened in 1950, following a lot of voluntary work in preparing the ground.The first interment took place the following year when Redmond (Red) Walsh, Curravordy, was interred.
